Office of State Register
Office of state register
The Office of State Register publishes all of the state's rulemaking documents so residents can be aware of changes in state agency administrative law. Published documents also include public notices, reports, policy and procedure memoranda and executive orders.
Louisiana statutes direct agencies to engage in the rulemaking process in order to implement new state and federal laws. Rules are promulgated in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act through a process that allows for public input as well as legislative involvement. Documents are published monthly in the Louisiana Register and in the compiled set of administrative law, the Louisiana Administrative Code.
OSR staff works with agencies in drafting, editing, organizing and indexing their rules to maintain a user-friendly, cohesive body of administrative law. OSR also certifies each Louisiana Register and Louisiana Administrative Code publication and provides free on-line access to Louisiana's administrative law.
